Bible League International is calling on people to forgo a take-away meal or a couple of coffees, and donate the savings, so people in underprivileged countries can have a Bible of their own, in their heart-language!
"This idea is called 'The Power of 10' says Bible League Fundraising Director Hamilton Smith. "We want 10,000 people to take up the challenge of regularly donating $10 a month. That's all!"
Hamilton says this is a campaign that young people can embrace.
"that $10 you save on little luxuries will make a huge difference to the lives of others in developing countries," says Hamilton.
"Giving people a Bible gives them the opportunity to learn more about God's love and his plan of salvation for them. And our Bibles are an 'Easy to Read' version, which means they are also a wonderful tool to help improve literacy for the entire family.
"A small donation each month will make a massive difference to the lives of people who don't have the option of buying a coffee or a pizza meal.
"The 'Power of Ten' is a simple and effective way of making an enormous difference."
