The Season 3 finale of The Blacklist left fans with many burning questions, particularly surrounding the show's leading lady Elizabeth Keen (Megan Boone) and the shocking confession by the new mysterious character, Alexander Kirk, that he is indeed her father.
The final scene ended with Kirk approaching Keen after kidnapping her from the arms of loving husband Tom and baby Agnes, telling her that he had been "imagining this moment for the last 25 years."
According to the show's EP John Eisendrath, this is the cliffhanger that will kick off season 4's story.
"It's definitely an, 'Oh my God, who really is this person, what's his agenda and what is going to happen to Liz?'" he told Entertainment Weekly.
"We're left with Red and everyone aware of the fact that Liz is alive, and she's also been abducted."
The NBC hit has been known to throw its fans curveballs. For weeks viewers were left questioning the "death" of Liz which coincided with the actress giving birth in real life.
One thing is for sure, after discovering his trusted assistant Mr (Kate) Kaplan helped fake Liz's death which ultimately led to her abduction, Red will have his eyes set on finding Kirk when the series returns.
Season 4 of The Blacklist is set to premiere Thursday, September 22.
