The Originals season 2 will return next year with a "Find and Rescue Rebekah" mission, executive producer Michael Narducci revealed.
He dished out to The Hollywood Reporter that the safety of Rebekah Mikaelson (Claire Holt) would be the primary concern of the series once it returns on television in 2015.
Narducci also said that Rebekah, who got transferred into a new body, is in a very dangerous place especially since only Kol (Daniel Sharman) knows where his sister really is.
"For a little while, it becomes all hands on deck: We need to find and rescue Rebekah," he said.
The executive producer added that there will be a "pretty interesting and satisfying conclusion" to Rebekah's body-swap storyline.
"We felt the storyline made the most sense for Rebekah, because she has always been the one who said she wants to be cured from vampirism. On the other hand, it's definitely a cautionary tale of being careful what you wish for," he explained.
Narducci said that there's a possibility Rebekah returns to her original body, so fans should not write off Aussie actress Holt just yet. "Rebekah's body hasn't been destroyed. I definitely don't think - or hope - we've seen the last of Claire Holt," he said.
