It will be a sad day for television as Two and a Half Men is slated to broadcast its final episode on February 19, 2015, according to CBS.
The comedy series has had a successful run for 12 seasons. It was first released in September 22, 2003 starring Charlie Sheen, Jon Cryer, and Angus T. Jones.
However, because he criticized show creator Chuck Lorre and challenged him to a fight, Sheen was booted out of the show in 2011. His character was killed off and replaced by self-made billionaire Walden Schmidt on Season 9, played by Ashton Kutcher.
Kutcher is the highest-paid actor on television as he was reported to have earned $24 million from June 2012 to June 2013. Jon Cryer, who plays his best friend Alan Harper, is the second highest-paid actor on television, raking in $21 million.
Sheen has expressed eagerness to return for the last Two and a Half Men episode, even saying that he has a "brilliant idea" on how to reintroduce his character. There is no confirmation yet whether or not Sheen will be seen during the final episode.
Two and a Half Men has received around 47 Emmy nominations. Cryer himself was nominated for seven Emmys and won two - in 2009 and 2012. Including the final episode, the comedy series will have released a total of 262 episodes.
