|PIC2|Some eighteen months out from every Olympic Games, Mark Tronson, a Baptist minister sends to Olympic host cities a 'Protocol of ideas' on the functioning of Olympic Village 'Religious Services'. This time, he was invited to meet with the relevant people in person.
IOC's Kevan Gosper assisted Mark Tronson in his initial Olympic ministry in Los Angeles 1984 Olympics. Subsequently, in 2000 Mark was invited to Lausanne, Switzerland to assist IOC staff in developing a Religious Services 'Protocol of ideas' for Olympic host cities.
"Tim Morrison welcomed us and demonstrated the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Villages 'Religious Services' planning and we were delighted to affirm those arrangements," M V Tronson noted.
Mark and Delma Tronson also caught up with Reverend David Wells and his wife Susan. As the public face and chairman of Vancouver's religious multi-faith community, David will be the one leading the actual foot work in the Religious Centre.
"David Wells has been a guest in our home in Australia and is a very experienced Olympic Religious Services campaigner. David and his team have a great task to undertake and they are well on track," M V Tronson explained.
"There are a group of highly experienced Christian Olympic chaplains who will join David Wells' local Canadian team for the duration of the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics at their two village venues, Vancouver city and the alpine resort at Whistler," M V Tronson said.
