Mark, himself, videoed and produced these testimonies. Although it will take time to do the video editing in the first instance, the transcribing has been completed.
"These written testimonies will be formulated as press articles for release over the next few weeks," M V Tronson explained.
"We had a wide range of delegates giving their testimonies on video, including a nurse from Papua New Guinea, an elected member of Parliament from Papua Indonesia, a professional singer from New Zealand, a Bishop from The Solomon's and a city pastor from Malaysia," M V Tronson noted. "There were also some delegates from Australia who chose to participate."
Each afternoon during the free time at the Cairns conference the tripod was set up in the pergola at the venue, the Cairns Colonial Resort.
"It rained every day, and inside venues proved too dark even with the available lighting," M V Tronson mused. "So we found an alternative dry position with quite reasonable lighting, and we were able to work our way through those available to offer their stories."
The Australian Missionary News was competing in this 'free time slot' with other 'optional seminars' and 'bus shopping trips' provided by the resort. It was therefore pleasing to see how many delegates were prepared to give time to share their stories.
The Baptist World Alliance Living Water Conference director is an Australian Baptist from Melbourne, the Reverend Tony Cupit who has run these Living Water conferences in Russia, the Ukraine, India, Sri Lanka and Ghana. This Australasian-South Pacific gathering follows these in the lead-up to the 2010 Baptist World Congress in Hawaii next July.
"Tony Cupit travels extensively in this work, and he asked to have our videos and the transcribed testimonies to show to a Baptist world audience and for a second book on Baptist people around the world," concluded M V Tronson.
