Writing an open letter, posted on the World Evangelical Alliance website, Rev. Mbugua said nothing could ever justified the killing and the wanton destruction of properties that have caused an estimated 100,000 people to be displaced, according to the Kenya Red Cross.
"…But I do not believe anything justifies the killings, destruction of property and the many people that are now refugees in their own land. More than 300 people have lost their lives and over 300,000 others displaced and are now refugees in their own country! Hungry yet
they had food in their stores. They cannot handle it!"
Rev. Mbugua has urged Christians to pray for the East African country, saying only God can make a leader to rise up, who gives up power and personal ambition for the sake of the country.
Meanwhile, the country is bracing for more violence as a three-day national protest is starting on Wednesday. Both presidential candidates display stubbornness in claiming they won the election, where its validity had been questioned by electoral observers sent by other countries such as the European Union.
