An unknown singer songwriter from Oklahoma is inspiring people all around the world.
A Facebook post of the "Gone" video has gotten over 2 million views. 75,000 satisfied listeners shared the post with family and friends.
Meagan White never thought that a personal song she wrote for her father, who took his own life, would get this much attention.
"The way I see it, it's turned into something so beautiful," White said about the song going viral. "I'm so thankful. I'm just thankful that this song, that my music means something to somebody, that's my goal in life."
The singer didn't grow up with her dad by her side. It wasn't until White turned 16 when she met her father for the first time, while performing. The year before he died, the artist was able to spend more time with her dad, Paul. He was also a musician.
Meagan shared more details about her dad: "He was always energetic. He was always just so full of life. I've never met anyone like him. It just meant the world that I got that chance."
She continued to reminisce on their short yet quality time together:
"He was like, 'You're everything I wish I could have been.' Things like that, little comments like that, still play in my mind."
Other things keep White busy - she's a mother, wife, college student and doctor's assistant. When she manages to wiggle some free time from her schedule, the artist sings locally in Grand Lake and in Northwest Arkansas.
One of her goals is to sign a country-music record deal. The viral music video could make that a reality sooner rather than later, industry professionals have gotten in touch with the singer since the video was posted.
"Gone" may be available for sale on iTunes in the near future. A portion of the proceeds will go towards organisations that spread teen suicide awareness and prevention.
To her fans, White said her message is: "I want to tell them they're not alone. They're never alone, and to stay strong and to believe they're gonna see their loved ones again."
