But if you're anything like me there's always that one reason why it's just out of reach, not enough time, or maybe money (resources) are the issue?
Well tough, as it is the world doesn't wait for you to catch up, or for that matter stay the same, so you and I, we need to strive to reach these ideas that we have. How should we do this said striving?
First we need to know where we're going. Work out a goal so you can measure your progress and work out a plan for how you will reach this goal.
When I was a teenage I was a chronic procrastinator and incredibly indecisive (Well it's probably still true) and among many words of wisdom I was given, one most of us are familiar with I'm sure, "If you don't plan to achieve anything then that's exactly what you will achieve".
While providence does happen opportunism won't get you very far without a goal to set your direction. So knowing where you're aiming for is essential in realising your ideas.
Once you know your direction you can then plot a course to navigate the coming weeks or years or even decades.
The hard decision often is not how to achieve a goal or realise an idea but which ideas do we pursue and which ideas will we put down, maybe never to come back to.
In relation to life as a Christian, we have the advantage of prayer, which is applicable in all things. As part of this whole decision process we also inevitably encounter the quagmire of priorities.
Some ideas will be thrown away immediately in this process as they cut against the grain of what you believe in. What's left is a field of possibilities, at which point choosing the options that provide a synergy with your other goals is usually enough to decide what to pursue.
Hold to your beliefs, support your priorities and set goals to realise the ideas you have. Get moving!
