Several team women's sport are turning professional. By professional I refer to the exchange of labour for monetary value, the same transaction that occurs in commerce and industry along with trades unions and associations which aid in such negotiations.
The Australians professional women's leagues that have come to the fore in recent weeks with huge publicity over rates of remuneration are the -

Cricket girls
The critical issue in all things 'high level' sport today is centred on "Women's sports on television". Get television rights for your women's sport as a regular feature as are the men, then you're on a roll.
This led me on a search to ascertain what women's sport are already on television. I took a cursory glance at the women's sports my wife and had seen televised, taking the last five years so as to measure the increase of this impact of women's sports being televised.
This was the list of women's sports we'd seen televised
Netball - tick
Hockey - tick
Basketball - tick
Swimming - tick
Golf - tick
Tennis - tick
Cricket - tick
Track and Field - tick
Softball - tick
Soccer - tick
Gymnastics - tick
Kick Boxing - tick
Judo - tick
Equestrian - tick
Rowing - tick
Cycling - tick
Skating - tick
Triathlon - tick
Sailing - tick
Archery - tick
The list could go on and on. In point of fact, women's sports are regularly televised. There are many other women's sports televised when we take into account the Winter and Summer Olympic / Commonwealth Games.
Who could forget the 2010 Winter Olympics Gold Medals of both Lydia Lassila in the Women's Freestyle Ski Aerials and Torah Bright in the snowboarding half-pipe event. Who can forget the 2012 Summer Olympics and Sally Pearson. We're all glued to the television.
But this is not the same as women's sports televised on a week to week basis. This is where these women's sports have come of age. Already women's sports that get this kind of televised coverage is the netball, basketball, soccer and the international circuits of tennis and golf. The huge bulk of women's sport televised is at championship level such as swimming, hockey, track & field, triathlon and the like.
What we can say is that Australia has many women sport super stars. One is Margaret Court former Grand Slam Tennis Champion and Christian minister. Now there's a story for a feature film.
