Do you know that you are special? Do you know that you are royal? Do you know that you are deeply loved by God?
First Peter chapter 2 verse 9 states “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” It is such an amazing feeling to know without a doubt that I am God’s prized possession, to know that his love for me is unconditional and everlasting.
Not a mistake
There are days when I just sit and bask in the beauty of God’s wisdom and supremacy and the fact that he chose me. He created me and I am not a mistake. He knew me before anyone else did, even before I was formed in my mother’s womb. As Psalm chapter 139 puts it “Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” God knew you long before you existed, so how can you be a mistake? He knit us together perfectly in his own image, for that reason we are fearfully and wonderfully made.
Whenever you feel down, just remember you were created with a purpose. You were created to live a life ordered by God. To walk in his will and purposes and to experience the joy and peace that serving him brings.
Despite your circumstances, God can use you for his glory. For example, consider the bible character Ruth. Ruth was a Moabite, and in her culture, they did not serve the true and living God. She got married to an Israelite and after he died ,she decided that she was going to go with her mother in law and serve her God, the true and living God. God did not reject Ruth because of her circumstances, he instead used her for his glory.
Be bold
There was a point in my life when I was afraid of speaking about God’s glory because I was afraid of being negatively criticized. I was also fearful that I was not good enough or that my testimonies were not as important to be shared. Ultimately, I realized I was living to please God and no one else. I realized that whatever God wanted me to do he would equip me to do so, and that there was no need to fear. I started to speak over my life, I reminded myself of my identity in Christ; I am his child, I am royal, I am loved, I am more than a conquer, I have the authority to stand up to the enemy, I was not given a spirit of fear, but of love, power and faith. Most importantly, I can do all things through Christ who is my strength.
I prayed for the spirit of boldness and I saw changes in my life. I am now willing and ready to share the gospel of Christ because that is my job. It is not about me and my abilities, it is all about God and how he can use me for his glory.
Embrace your crown
Once you have Jesus you are royalty. You serve the King of kings and the Lord of lords. I pray that you will embrace your position in Jesus Christ and make yourself available to be used by him. He will never leave you alone. Whatever he has called you to do, he will sustain you. Isaiah chapter 41:10 says “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
If you have not yet made Jesus your Lord and accepted Him as your Saviour, it is not too late to do so. His arms are wide open and ready to accept you.
