Justin Austin-Monaghan

Married to the amazing Liana Monaghan for 13 years, a fellow creative that is just trying to release a little bit of heaven this side of eternity. How do I do that? I draw, paint, love people and surf my way through the streets and beaches of South Australia.

  • Jars of Glory - Oil on Canvas

This artwork is the symbol of what it means to go from Brokenness to Glory. A painting I did in a time where God was speaking to me about through us becoming broken before him his Glory, his light, can and will shine through us his vessels.

  • Looking ahead is vital

Surfing involves looking ahead. My experience as a surfer I have found it's not good enough to just catch the wave, you need to be able to catch the wave in the right position.

  • Beyond the Veil – Acrylic on Canvas

‘Beyond the veil’ is a piece that took me deep in the heavenly realm of colours and light. It was a piece of art born out of a new way of painting and one in which the destination was not known, the process was new to me and the emotions that filtered through my mind and heart were intense and felt like I had entered another dimension.

  • “Leaf of Healing” Acrylic on Canvas

A painting that was brought to life by the verse in the book of Ezekiel 47:12. The image was also inspired by a vision in which I saw a powerful leaf hidden deep in a dark forest.

  • ‘Filled’ and ‘Skilled’ - the journey of an Artist

A few weeks ago I came across a post from one of my favourite artists. His name is Joel Rea and he is an incredible realistic artist that fills his canvases with images that reveal deep messages of the struggle between people and nature.  These images are executed at such a level that at first look you think his paintings are photos.

  • Midge Point Beach

In 2018 my wife Liana and I took some much needed ministry respite at Well-Being Australia's 'Laguna Quays Respite' on the Whitsundays.

  • The lessons of planning, trust and walking in God’s steps

Sometimes in life it's not until you are looking back that you can see God is moving in your life. The start of 2020 was brimming with possibilities and a planned out approach to how it was going to unfold from my perspective.

  • ‘Believing for God’s breath and power’

  • Pruning is the Father's way to flourish - John Ch. 15

This past season and current season of Covid-19 has seen our lives drastically change. Some things that we thought were so fixed in our lives suddenly became vulnerable to the scenarios that the world is facing.

  • “I'm giving you back time” - God

In this season of change I have been thinking about what are the positives of this time and how maybe God really is making good out of a bad situation. It says in His word in Paul’s letter to the Romans.
