Survey reality

Survey reality

In a fascinating survey from News.com run by Gallaxy illustrated once again that Australians prefer time over money, the 'she'll be right' attitude is pervasive and that the imagery of our sunny weather and open spaces is an indispensable component of it all. .

  • Meaningful contentment

Let's be realistic – I need money to meet our family's grocery housekeeping expenses, our home living costs along with our ministry. I do not have very much of it having served as a faith financed missionary for 40 years but the people who financially support us have enough money to make giftings to us along with other missions.

  • Young Scientist of the Year 2010 – Nathanael Yates video interview

This is another of those wonderful interviews for the Australian Missionary News IPTV, this one Nathanael Yates from Perth - Australian Young Scientist of the Year from 2010.

  • The menagerie – Footplate Padre

There are many remarkable stories of things that have happened to the astonishment of all those around them and in today's world, these would have been recorded on video for social media and the entertainment of us all.

  • The freelance option

International cricketer Brett Lee retired from the Test Cricket arena some years ago and subsequently concentrated on his ‘limited over’ opportunities and freelanced himself to 'other' professional cricket arenas.

  • 2010 netballer Susan Furhmann video interview

This is another of those wonderful interviews for the Australian Missionary News IPTV, this one Australian Netballer Susan Furhmann from 2010.

  • Why should we be surprised?

'37 Days' is a television series which I also have as a DVD. It details 'behind the political scenes' leading up to WWI in August 1914.

  • Preventative values can be calculated

There are now studies available around the world as to the cost value of savings of road accidents by using rail transport

  • The importance of music through the ages

Music is important in worshipping God. There are many references in the Bible to singing, playing or dancing with joy. I, myself, play the saxophone, as described in my article in January. Music and the story of the Resurrection surely go together!

  • The science behind some Aboriginal medicines

Before there were modern methods of making and analysing medicines, and before there were regulations about testing them for safety and efficacy, there were traditional herbal remedies handed down from one generation to the next.

  • The art of 'silence'

Silence can be utilised as a defence, a weapon, a plea for mercy, a statement of ignominy, a cry of ignorance, a shout of defiance, a political comment, an expression of contempt, and much more besides.

  • Quote: 'But...he has the guns'

There is a very powerful 'true to life' scene in the DVD series “Winds of War' which in my view, counters many of the issues confronting the world today.
