Computer hardware company, Micro-Star International (MSI) has unveiled its brand of new graphics cards 'Radeon RX 470'.
This time, MSI has not just rolled out one or two graphic cards as it has done in the past, but four different versions, including 'Gaming' and 'Gaming X' variants that are available in 4 GB and 8 GB models.
In Gaming X versions, the "X" represents advanced clock speeds, and boost up to 1254 MHz. Versions without the "X" function up to 1230 MHz, while the reference design is 1206 MHz. These have a small overclock.
The hardware company clocked the memory on the Gaming X cards at a data rate of 6700 Gbps, while the without-X variants have 6600 Gbps GDDR5 memory.
The new cards are loaded with the TwinFrozr VI coolers as far as thermal design is concerned, which consists of dense aluminium fin stacks, heat pipes up to 8 mm thick and a pair of Torx 2.0 fans, which do not rotate when the GPU is operating below 60 °C, and immediately starts operating if temperature rises. In addition, all of the card models come with RGB LED lighting.
So far, the company has not declared the prices for the latest RX 470 Gaming cards, but MSI Radeon RX 470 Gaming X versions are likely to be in stores around the world by the end of this month. MSI Radeon RX 470 and RX 480 Armor models are likely to hit stores in September, this year.
