The tussle between Samsung and Apple has been going for years now, with the latest controversy surrounding Samsung's smartwatch patent design that many have noticed looks a lot like Apple's.
Despite launching its smartwatch before Apple, the Korean tech giant still seems to be taking ideas from its opponents. On Thursday, a patent application was published stating that Samsung has submitted a patent enclosing several designs, which look similar to the Apple Watch.
The majority of the images in the patent illustrate a basic smartwatch, while two images clearly look like their competitor's device. The proposed figures include Apple's digital crown and some of its band designs.
The proposed "Wearable Device" in the patent shows a layout for attaching a smartwatch device with the watchband straps.
The issue sparking controversy is actually not just related to the patent graphics, but the mirror drawings in the patent claim, which shows that Samsung techies have at taken ideas from the Apple Watch.
According to the International Data Corporation (IDC), the Apple Watch is the best selling smartwatch covering 72% of the market, while Samsung is the second on the list with only 7% market share.
So far, the Korean company, Samsung has refused to comment over the issue.
