2013 finished with driver Andrew Fishtail Fisher being awarded the prestigious Service Star by the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport and the coveted Piston Cup by the Auto One V8 Ute Series.
The Service Star is only occasionally given out to a person nominated from amongst all of the codes of motor racing that belong to CAMS who has given exemplary service in a variety of roles. CAMS recognised the immense amount of work that Andrew does on and off the track for motor racing, the community and youth. Each year he donates more than 200 days to take the Life Choices presentation to tens of thousands of young people in schools and correctional centres across the nation and he challenges them to make good life decisions. He also speaks to business people and people of all ages about living a life of integrity.
The Piston Cup is the "Brownlow Medal" of V8 ute racing and is presented to the driver who has performed at the highest level on and off the track and made the biggest contribution to the category. In addition to his speaking engagements Andrew had a solid on-track year behind the wheel of the Jesus Racing Ford Falcon ute winning the Masters Award four times, winning a race, standing on the podium several times, breaking lap records and always threatening for pole position. His lightning starts and "heart in the mouth" overtaking maneuver's thrilled the hundreds of thousands of trackside spectators and millions of television viewers.
Other highlights included:
