Four separate Irish churches have recently been robbed, the Church of Ireland announced a couple of days ago.
According to the report by BBC News, money was stolen from St Malachy's Church in Hillsborough, Aghaderg Church, Loughbrickland and St John's Church, in Dromara - all of which are located in County Down.
Meanwhile, more thieves ransacked St. Andrew's Church in Lisburn, in County Antrim.
In the report, the burglars used specialist tools and equipment to break into the safes of each parish. It can also be said that the burglaries could have been planned for months. No suspects have been arrested as of writing.
"Following a recent spate of robberies on church premises we have urged our clergy to be extra vigilant over the Christmas period", says a spokesperson of the Church of Ireland Diocese of Down and Dromore in a statement.
"We are saddened to have been targeted in this way and hope that no further such incidents occur for us or for anyone else in this Christmas season and beyond."
