Say it isn't so!
American Horror Story will reportedly be saying goodbye to two of its biggest stars - Jessica Lange and Sarah Paulson.
Lange has time and again said that she is done with American Horror Story and that Freak Show will be her last. But if the show's ratings are any indication, nobody seems willing to let the show's powerhouse go just yet, including creator Ryan Murphy.
"I really want her to keep her hand in," he earlier admitted to TV Line. "It always starts with a character for Jessica, so I think I'd have to present her with something she was very interested in. Before, I was met with a really quick 'No.' Now, I'm hearing, 'Well, let's keep talking.' So I thought that was a very good sign. I think if I presented her with the right character, and it could work with her schedule, she might be interested. That's my hope."
Murphy is relentless in keeping Lange in the show, and even joked that "I'm sending her bribes every day."
Meanwhile, Murphy has no problem keeping another one of the show's stars Sarah Paulson on board, but the fact that she has signed on to play prosecutor Marcia Clark in the spin-off American Crime Story might keep her away from any future American Horror Story projects.
American Crime Story will reportedly begin filming early this 2015, while filming for American Horror Story usually starts from summer through fall, so Paulson might find time to fit both shows in her schedule if the former wraps up early.
Paulson has managed to play characters who survive every season, and in a show where death is a constant, her surviving streak is quite a feat. "Do I like that so far I'm the only actor in the history of American Horror Story to survive every season? Yes, I do. Is that going to last? I really don't know," she said.
