Google recently announced its new operating system for Android phones, Android 7.0 Nougat. While the standard and the final version is yet to be released, one can actually install its preview version if you have signed up for the beta program.
Just when it was thought this version would take a whole lot more time before it reaches other mainstream devices, an OTA link that updates Huawei P9 handsets into the beta build for Android 7.0 Nougat has been leaked.
The new updates also include multi-user support, interactive gestures, a new power saving mode, optimized phone manager, optimize battery management and the new EMUI 5.0 skin.
According to a report for the beta built, here's what is new:
- This update version is only for EMUI 5.0
- It optimizes weather app so that it can easily forecast weather for each hour
- It optimizes the network speed when international roaming is on.
- It also optimizes the registration time when the network connection is interrupted due to environmental reason
The beta version will work only if you have the latest stock build for P9. And if you are on custom ROM, then this will not work for you.
Google is planning to launch Android Nougat by September 2016.
Delays in Android's OS rollouts has been a normal thing ever since. But if you are a Nexus phone user, you will be the first to receive the much anticipated platform when it is launched.
