The evolution of Angelina Jolie has been one of the most interesting in Hollywood history. The erstwhile goth vixen and bad girl has grown to become one of the industry's most respected actresses, is a recognized United Nations ambassador, breast cancer awareness advocate, dedicated mother and wife.
Her most recent addition to an already long list of accomplishments? Filmmaker. And just like her previous endeavors, the star has thrown hear and soul into her latest project, 'Unbroken,' calling it a life-changing experience.
The film is the actress' second directorial project and is premised on the inspirational, albeit violent, tale of a World War II veteran's survival after being captured.
"I'm shy to call myself a director still. When someone says, 'What do you do for a living?' I don't know if I've earned that," Jolie said. "I do love directing. I much prefer it to acting."
"It wasn't that I believed I was the most skilled director...It was that I just really, really cared," she added, with colleagues supporting the claim and noting how deeply personal the film was for the 39-year-old.
The actress is already shooting her next project, a drama starring herself and real-life husband, Brad Pitt and is already making plans to make her fourth film, centered on elephant poaching.
