A new religion in Slovenia which focuses on anti-corruption campaigns and protests, has seen continuous growth over the past year.
Dubbed as the Zombie Church of the Blissful Ringing, the religion's goal is simple - to condemn the Slovenian government for being one of the 'most corrupt' governments in the world.
In the data released by the Transparency International in their Global Corruption Barometer for 2013, the political parties, parliament, judiciary department, and public officials in Slovenia are 'extremely corrupt'. In fact, most of the people in the country believe that their government's campaign against corruption is ineffective.
Established in March 2013, the Zombie Church is currently headed by their 'High Priest', Rok Gros.
"This is our goal – try to change the world here on Earth and [we] are trying to do our best so that we could come to the holy Trans Universe", Gros said in an interview.
According to the report by RT News, the church already has more than 10,000 members across Slovenia. In fact, in a statement from Ales Crnic, a cultural studies professor at Ljubljana University, the Zombie Church could spread beyond Slovenia.
In Crnic's explanation, the Zombie Church's reason of existence - corruption - happens almost anywhere in the world. And wherever there is corruption, there will be a reason people would join the group.
