Stan Walker, the 19 year old R&B singer/songwriter, stole the hearts of millions of Australians and stunned audiences and judges with the depth of his talent and his surprisingly mature soulful voice.
Stan's appearance at Easterfest will mark the first Australian Idol winner to perform at the festival since Guy Sebastian in 2004.
Easterfest CEO Isaac Moody said this major announcement will guarantee record crowds for the festival.
"When Guy was added to the 2004 lineup, we completely sold-out the festival. Some of those who missed out on tickets even climbed the trees surrounding the Mainstage in order to capture a glimpse of Guy's performance!"
"Stan is easily the best talent to come from Idol since Guy Sebastian."
"We are expecting a huge surge in ticket sales."
Toowoomba Regional Council's decision to re-model the Queen's Park amphitheatre could not have come at a better time for Easterfest.
The re-modeling of the amphitheatre combined with Easterfest's state-of-the-art infrastructure and production equipment is projected to increase the capacity of the amphitheatre to 15,000 people.
"We are very thankful to the Council for enlarging the Queen's park amphitheatre."
"With today's announcement I am sure we will fill every square inch of the expansion."
The addition of Stan Walker to Easterfest 2010 adds to an already strong lineup and a record number of international artists including Newsboys, Superchick, Sanctus Real, Hawk Nelson and the reunion of Christian Rock legends, Resurrection band.
Stan Walker, together with his band, will appear at the Mainstage on Easter Saturday night. He will also be making an exclusive solo appearance at Grand Central Shopping Centre as part of Easterfest City.
