Emmanuel Kopwe, African Enterprise's Director of Reconciliation Ministries, will be travelling Australia to raise awareness, engage Aussie support and share his inspiring work in Africa offering Australians insight into the real meaning of healing and reconciliation.
Peter Cheel, African Enterprise's Executive Director, said that while Australia is a tolerant society in 2009, there is still a need for reconciliation throughout our vast country.
"Rebel Movements, the Army, and Police in Africa have all been influenced by Emmanuel's work in equipping the church to make lasting change," Mr Cheel said.
"Emmanuel has spent the past 11 years facilitating healing and reconciliation following years of genocide in Rwanda and Burundi, apartheid in South Africa and the continued ongoing violence in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
"Ravaged by over 20 years of civil war, leaving 1 in 17 dead and over 1 million homeless, the nation of Liberia in west Africa is the location of African Enterprise's next pan African mission.
"Months of healing and reconciliation ministry with local churches will culminate in a city wide mission of 700 events with more than 100,000 hearing the gospel, in Monrovia, Liberia in November 2009," Mr Cheel said
"This is a great opportunity to be a part of the great commission, to hear and find out how they can support Christ's light to shine brightly in a forgotten nation," Mr Cheel concluded.
