You rush from one place to the next.
The microwave beeps. You take out your food, get it down and run off to the next item on your To-Do-List.
You are in the car rushing off to an appointment hoping you don't get any red lights on the way.
The button for the elevator has been pressed, but it is taking an awfully long time to reach your floor.
Your coffee is being made by the young barista who keeps making mistakes, and you wish you had gone to the coffee shop across the road to save a few minutes.
You...get the picture.
Life is fast paced and jam-packed.
I Don't Want My Juice To End
This has been my week. Running from one thing to the next. But amidst the hustle and bustle I found myself on a balmy night sipping some freshly squeezed juice.
Nestled in the busy streets of Melbourne with my Carrot, Beetroot, Celery & Ginger Juice, for a tiny moment, I could soak it all in...
The stir of people scrambling from one place to the next;
The 'ding' of the Melbourne trams as they worked the streets;
The sounds and smells of coffee machines and cafés doing their thing...
And as I relaxed for this short moment perched on top of an up-cycled hipster stool peering out onto the street, I forgot about the busyness and found the beauty in stopping and basking in a moment.
This moment had so much to it!
I didn't want my juice to end.
Picture On The Wall
Consider for a moment the beauty found in a moment.
There is something about photographs that are beautiful - time standing still and inviting us to consider a moment.
We hang them on walls, put them in galleries, and buy them for thousands because there is something about them that is beautiful.
Don't Miss The Beauty
Stop and consider the last time you stopped and considered.
What did you notice?
The feeling inside of you that patchwork's every moment.
As I sat sipping my juice in Melbourne on that balmy night earlier this week I considered how much richer life would be if I took the time to stop and consider occasionally.
We weren't made to be human 'doings', but human 'beings'. It's important that we take the time to 'be' as well as 'do'.
God sometimes speaks in loud roars, but more often He speaks to us in the gentle whisper of the wind. Are we so busy that we miss it?
Let that coffee actually hit your tongue. Stop and consider, and thank God for the beauty found in your moment.
Remember Elijah in 1 Kings 19 verse 12 where God was not in the strong wind, nor the earthquake, nor the fire, but after the fire a still small voice and Elijah heard it ..."
