Benedict Cumberbatch might have broken a lot of hearts when he proposed to his girlfriend British actress Sophie Hunter, but he sure is making up for it now by saying he will focus more on his work for Sherlock now before his upcoming wedding.
"One thing at a time," he told PopSugar. "I'm playing Sherlock now - just about to start - so my main focus is going to be on that."
The couple first met each other while filming for Burlesque Fairytales (2009), but their status as a couple has only been confirmed five months before the news of their engagement broke out. They announced their engagement in The Times newspaper and his rep laterconfirmed the news.
The formal newspaper clip read, "The engagement is announced between Benedict, son of Wanda and Timothy Cumberbatch of London, and Sophie, daughter of Katharine Hunter of Edinburgh and Charles Hunter of London."
However, Cumberbatch might have to rethink his priorities now, since another publication Page Six exclusively revealed that the couple might be tying the knot because a baby is along the way!
"Sophie is a few months along, and both she and Benedict are very excited about it," a source told the publication. "They are also quietly planning to marry in early spring."
Page Six also noted that Cumberbatch and Hunter were recently spotted together at the Palm Springs International Film Festival, and the actress'clever wardrobe choice and accessory managed to disguise her baby bump.
Fans are already affectionately calling the couple's offspring as "Cumberbaby" but the couple has yet to confirm the news.
Sherlock will return late this year with a holiday special, followed by three episodes in 2016. Co-creator Mark Gatiss told Radio Times that fans "can always expect tragedy as well as adventure, that's just how it goes."
