To help a spouse copes with their partner being deployed for military service, the International Bible Society / Send the Light ministry has created a Bible just for them.
The Bible, entitled 'Finding Hope Beyond the Battle,' in addition to the Scripture has 13 testimonies. These testimonies, in the words of Chuck Adams a retired U.S. Army chaplain from the International Bible Society/Send the Light ministry, tell how, "The Word of God and their faith in God has helped them get through a variety of challenges, difficulties, and problems while the service member has been deployed."
Mr. Adams said the reception to these Bibles from chaplains had been one of 'excitement and enthusiasm.' He hoped that the Scripture would bring more people to the word of God.
"The reception as I've shown some preview copies to the chaplains has been excitement and enthusiasm, and it's just pretty overwhelming," said Mr. Adams.
"We are hoping to draw these family members who are not normally believers or Bible readers into the Word of God."
In a preliminary report that was prepared by the American Psychological Association to the Presidential Taskforce on Military Deployment Services for Youth, Families and Service Member, it outlined that since September 11th 2001, approximately 1.5 million American troops have been deployed to support U.S. war effort.
