The Big Bang Theory family suffered a heartbreaking loss last November when Carol Ann Susi, the actress who voiced Howard Wollowitz's mom passed away due to cancer. She was 62.
They offered her a simple farewall card after an episode, but the show's executive said that they are planning something more for the actress.
"The death of Carol will be dealt with," executive producer Steve Molaro told TV Line. "We just needed time to process the loss of our friend."
No further details are out yet, but The International Business Times did say that a tribute is expected in the first Big Bang Theory episode this 2015 called "The Space Probe Disintegration."
Some are speculating that Melissa Rauch (Bernadette) could possibly voice Howard's mom from now on, since she has done an impressive imitation of Susi's voice in the past. Meanwhile, others think that the series' storyline might change to fit in the death of Howard's mom.
Molaro also talked about other characters' developments this season, and confirmed that the show is taking its time, particularly with regards to Leonard and Penny's wedding.
"We aren't in a rush for a Leonard and Penny wedding," he said. What they will tackle, however, is the couple's "future living arrangements regarding Sheldon."
At the same time, fans have to be contented with the groundbreaking moment when Sheldon told Amy he loved her, and gave her the perfect Christmas gift while mulling that the season he has been so adverse to might not be so bad after all.
"We are discovering the show, the relationships, the problems, as we go along. It's more a discovery process than a planning one," explained Molaro.
