Fresh after the public heard of U2's biking accident and subsequent announcement that he might never play guitar again, Black Keys drummer, Patrick Carney suffers a dislocated shoulder after a massive wave slammed him onto the ocean floor.
The drummer was promptly rushed to the ER where he was given anaesthesia to allow for physicians to reset his shoulder. Carney has since been released from the hospital but according to reports, still suffers a lot of pain from the accident.
Carney took to social media to announce and confirm his injury.
"Tune into my new lifetime movie. 'Dislocated shoulder' airing right now," Carney captioned on Instagram.
The Black Keys will next be seen on stage on February 6th for the 2015 MusiCares Person of the Year tribute to Bob Dylan before the band then leaves for a month-long European tour. No word as to whether Carney will be ready to resume his percussion duties for the event.
Other artists expected to join the band are Neil Young, Eddie Vedder, Beck, Willie Nelson, Jack White, Bonnie Raitt, Crosby, Stills & Nash.
The drummer posted another photo of his arm resting on a hospital bed with the bone slightly protruding in the shoulder.
