Yesterday I introduced you to the largest "free trade deal" you have never heard about. Today we're going to dig deeper into the issue of this enslaving agreement.
Before you think I am against free trade I am very much for it. Living in Canada, I would likely starve to death if it wasn't for trade of food products, especially during our 6 months of winter. It is also good there is competition for different products because that does lower the end cost for me as the consumer.
However I am not prepared to be controlled by international companies with dollar signs in their eyes.
The new World Empire
John Perkins (an economic hit man) said in a recent interview that "today we have a global empire, and it's not an American empire. It's not a national empire... It's a corporate empire, and the big corporations rule."
To expand on this quote, the truth is that TPP is not a Free trade agreement; it is a binding contract that will give corporations the ability to rule over nations and enslave its people. No wonder there is such secrecy surrounding the discussions of what is in this agreement. Check out this video.
Why is there such secrecy surrounding TPP?
This agreement is one you've never heard of because it's so secretive that people aren't even supposed to take notes in fear they may be leaked to the public. Some government officials have even been told to just vote on it and find out more afterwards.
Does anyone else have a problem with this? Don't we learn in the 1st grade, never sign anything you don't know or understand?
This is not a concern of national security; we aren't talking about nuclear or secret weapons. It is only through wikileaks and other leaks that we are getting snippets of what is actually in the agreement because the news media has been banned from access.
This agreement has the potential to affect over 3/4 billion people in the Pacific yet the key people who make laws are being by-passed (although Hollywood has been allowed to review the drafts to make sure they are satisfied with the outcome!)
What a ridiculous but systematic plan to hijack governments because no-one with real knowledge and authority are allowed close to the table.
Is it legal to bribe Politicians?
Anyone who is given access to the discussions are quietly filling their pockets with corporate dollars. For example the American senators who were against signing a fast tracked bill ("a special rule empowering the White House to negotiate and sign trade agreements without Congressional oversight" https://act.eff.org/action/don-t-let-the-senate-fast-track-tpp) have received big donations for their re-election campaigns from the very corporations that want this bill passed.
The 65 senators who voted 'yes' received a total of $1,148,971 from the supporting businesses. Click here for more
Is this not bribery? The senators that were voted in to protect the rights of the people and were very much against the TPP have just been sold out to the highest corporate dollar.
Why does the government or its people not care that their senators are being paid to vote (wasn't this just uncovered in FIFA?). Is that even democracy?? .
What can be done?
The TPP has not been signed as of yet in Australia so call your national representative, write them a letter, tell them why it is imperative that they don't sign it (or at least amend it so that all corporations trading within our nation are under our law and must answer to a judge and a jury in our country).
Make the corporations accountable to us because we should not have to pay for their losses and they need to submit to our laws to do business with us.
Please pass this around, as well as other articles showing the truth about TPP. You can also sign the petitions such as here https://www.getup.org.au/campaigns/tpp/tpp/the-dirtiest-deal-youve-never-heard-of
Or this one https://www.change.org/p/tony-abbott-do-not-sign-up-to-the-trans-pacific-partnership-agreement
Organize a protest. Get vocal! Show them what the true Aussie spirit is and things won't be alright mate if we sit idly and do nothing, because once the government signs this agreement is virtually impossible for us to get out of it in the future if we don't like how the corporations are taking advantage of our nation, our people and our resources.
The Lord is calling us as a people to stand up for justice. Proverbs 29:7 says the righteous care about justice for the poor, but the wicked have no such concern."
