She competed at the U.S. Olympic trials in 2008, setting a best of 10.97 however marginally missing out on the qualifying positions. After realizing she had become overconfident after her win in 2007, her father helped her refocus through reminding her that God has a plan for her life and athletic career.
After a lot of prayer about her future and with hard determination and perseverance, Jeter won the 2009 Shanghai Golden Grand Prix with a time of 10.64 second. This made her the second fastest woman in 100 meters, drawing up behind Florence Griffith-Joyner who holds the fastest time ever.
Jeter competed again in the 2012 U.S. Olympic trials. This time she won with a time of 10.92 seconds which qualified her for the 2012 London Olympics, an achievement she says she considers herself really blessed for.
Jeter currently holds three of the top ten times ever run and is definitely a contester to keep an eye out for in these 2012 London Olympic Games!
