Manchester United travelled to Villa Park for one of the most entertaining games on Saturday. Aston Villa were all over United and hit the post and crossbar in successive attacks. Uniteds defence was finally breached when the brilliant Ashley Young ran through the middle of the park and forced Brown to manhandle the villa midfielder to give Villa a penalty in which Young dually converted to give Villa the lead. Soon after a ramped Villa went 2-0 up before United found their touch. With 8 minutes remaining, United poured forward and showed why you can't write them off scoring 2 late goals to steel a valuable point in the Midlands.
Arsenal continued their fantastic league form with a 2-1 away win against Everton. Arsenal again called upon Fabregas for inspiration as he and Sagna both scored to put the gunners 2 points from the top of the table. Manchester City however couldn't find a winner at Eastland's as Birmingham kept them quiet. City are now in danger of slipping away from the leaders with some poor recent results.
Liverpool continued their miserable start to the campaign with a 2-0 loss to Stoke City. Liverpool tried everything and looked once more to Torres to lead the line however Stoke proved too strong scoring late on to confirm all 3 points.
Saturday's other fixtures saw Tottenham regain form in the league with Bale again the hero with a brace. Spurs ripped Blackburn apart at White Hart Lane with a blistering performance eventually coming out 4-2 winners. Wigan scored a solitary goal in a 1-0 victory at home to West Brom while Bolton won a thriller 3-2 away at Wolves. Newcastle and Fulham played out a lacklustre scoreless draw as did West Ham and Blackpool in London.
