A fresh exciting Children's Church aid – maps, charts and timelines – production has hit the Christian Bookstores, "The Timechart of Christian History".
When the promotion came across my ministerial desk I forwarded it to our local church's minister suggesting it be sought for the church 'book shop' as recently he had preached a series on Genesis with charts where the congregation lapped up such aids. This book seemed like an ideal follow up.
As a church historian (First Class Honours 38 years ago with the Theological Church History Prize followed by a doctorate) I am always on the look-out for such material and moreover I have a daughter and a son-in-law who run the Children's Church program in their Sydney congregation.
There are three parts of this very large book - 31 x 44cm and opens up to 62cm. You will need a good size table.
The first component are time lines and charts across the upper part of the project.
The second component are specific highlights with beautiful photographs across the lower part of the project.
The third components are large maps of the Old Testament and New Testament eras along with notes.
I have read it assiduously and found it explanatory, helpful and comprehensive.
