At West Coast Judd played 134 games and captained the club for two seasons. After returning to Melbourne to captain the Carlton Football Club, Judd's performance continued to shine. He won a host of club awards such as Carlton's Best and Fairest. His ultimate individual prize was becoming just one of four players in AFL history to win a Brownlow Medal at more than one club.
Brownlow Medal
Back in 2004 Judd polled 30 votes to win the medal. With a heritage like this, and a superb 2011 season, Judd goes into this year's Brownlow Medal as clear favourite. Some critics are saying that his form this year is even better than his form last year when he won his second Brownlow Medal. Judd leads the AFL in contested possessions, clearances and inside 50s. The rest of the AFL are chasing Judd.
Juddanaut
Judd is a man on top of his game. The Blues captain is setting his club up for a successful finals campaign both this year and in the years to come. He has backed current Blues coach Chris Ratten, whose current contract ends this year. Outside footy, Judd's son Oscar was born on July 26. His ability to balance marriage, new baby and footy is a testimony to the man's talent.
This week Judd leads Carlton (4th place on the ladder) against Freemantle in Perth. Last time the two teams met Fremantle defeated Carlton (13.15 (93) d 13.9 (87)). It is worth watching to see the way Judd influences the game.
