
The Australian Federal Government is willing to compensate the Australian Cricket Board to cancel its tour in Zimbabwe, as the Prime Minister wants to send a protest message to Robert Mugabe, President of Zimbabwe, through the cancellation of the cricket tour.
John Howard, a strong critic of the Mugabe's regime has describe the situation in his impoverished country as 'deteriorating,' reported the AFP. He also criticises the African leaders for failing to put pressure on him. The Prime Minister is not alone in his condemnation of the dictatorial government who recently imprisoned the opposition party leader.
Micah Challenge, a global advocacy initiative of the World Evangelical Alliance, has describe the political situation in Zimbabwe as 'appalling,' and further 'utterly condemns' the atrocities committed by the Mugabe regime.
The Christian ministry goes further saying it is 'shocked' at the apparent silence from the South African (SA) leaders. They urged the SA to carry out, "it(s)…obligation to seek justice, human rights and freedom for the African people of Zimbabwe."
