Mr Madden, a newcomer to politics, was drafted by the CDP to run for the inner-city seat of Sydney following his controversial call for the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras to be moved in doors and made an over 18's event.
Winning the seat will be a tough task for Mr Madden who is up against the Mayor of Sydney, Clover Moore, who has also held the state seat since 1988.
Mr Madden, who does not live in the electorate, said the decision to run in the seat of Sydney was about "picking a fight" with the left side of politics and standing up for righteousness.
"I'm not interested in standing for anywhere else. Sydney exemplifies the issues that I preach about, talk about and I'm on about", said the devout Christian.
Of particular concern to Mr Madden is the level of support given to charities working on the streets of Sydney, the number of brothels in the city and gambling levels in New South Wales.
Mr Madden described Sydney as the brothel capital of the South Pacific and said it was poor policy to allow criminals to open brothels.
"You can start a brothel easier than you can start a pub. If your straight out of gaol and you have the money and the connections you can start a brothel."
"If I'm elected I'll introduce a bill to put all brothel licences up for tender with a view to halving the number of brothels over the next 8 years."
While he expects policies like these to gain strong support from the Christian community, it is also expected to put him off-side with many in the inner-city suburbs of Sydney; and Mr Madden says he wouldn't have it any other way.
Three years ago Mr Madden was diagnosed with a level three melanoma and was told he had only a 40% chance of living. He said this brush with death has left him with a sense of urgency and an 'all or nothing' attitude towards politics.
Asked what will he do if he loses on Saturday, Mr Madden made it clear he wouldn't stop standing up for "righteousness" and said his vision for Sydney wouldn't die simply because he lost the election.
"I don't want to waste any time. When you're faced with your own mortality, you say to the Lord, I don't want to waste anymore time."
"It makes you cut to the chase in your thinking. What's the point standing for politics if it's just a little thing in the corner?"
While Mr Madden made it clear he is not thinking about what other opportunities there are to run again in the future and that he is focused on the State Election, he clearly intends to be a force in State and Federal politics in years to come.
