Christian author Tom Doyle has said that the surge of Muslim refugees into the West presents as a golden opportunity for the church to show the Muslims love, and to win them over to Christ.
Speaking to CBN news, the author claimed that if Christians in the West open their hearts to their Muslim brothers and sisters, and show them love, many from Islam could be won over to Christ.
"Today, more Muslims have come to faith in the last 10 years than in the last 1,400 years of Islam, so this is our great opportunity," Doyle said.
The author of DREAMS AND VISIONS: Is Jesus Awakening the Muslim World? stated that more often than not, a large number of Christians keep their distance from their Muslim neighbours, and refuse to engage with them, primarily because of fear. However, according to the author, Christians need to break this practice and begin to reach out to their Muslim neighbours first.
Doyle reasoned his stance by stating, "I think we can get together with Muslims, have them over to dinner, get to know them...just befriend them and start to show them the love of Jesus. And I'm telling you that will open many doors with them."
In the book 'Dreams and Visions: Is Jesus Awakening the Muslim World?' Doyle narrates several instances where Jesus has miraculously appeared before Muslims across several parts of the world. Nevertheless, the author is of the opinion that these supernatural occurrences do not indicate that the Church must stay out of the picture. In fact, he affirms that the Church must continue to play a prominent part in bringing Muslims to the path of Christ.
He pens, "The enemy thinks that if he can make the rest of us afraid of Muslims or make us hate them, then he can short-circuit Jesus' Church from reaching Muslims."
He advocates Christians to be unafraid of Islamic terrorism, and encourages them to pay attention to the much bigger spiritual battle that has been taking place.
"Could it be that the real story about Muslims today is not global terrorism? Could it be the real story about Muslims is that Jesus is reaching out to them with His offer of eternal life earned by his death on the cross and resurrection from the dead?"
