Danielle (Carney) Stott won the 2014 'Basil Sellers' $1000 Australian Young Writer award. Danielle Stott is based on the Gold Coast, and gained the most points over an eight month period from seven Panellists, having marked all the Australian young writers.
Presenting Danielle Carney-Stott 'The Basil Sellers' was Well-Being Australia's Russell Modlin. This Press Service International (PSI) gala event was held at the Banora Point Baptist facilities on the Gold Coast on Saturday evening.
Danielle Carney-Stott has a degree in Theology and currently undertaking a psychology degree, married to Daniel Stott, a school teacher and they have a young daughter Lydia and has lost two little boys in still-birth.

Danielle Carney-Stott has lost two baby boys in still berth and is involved in a range of organisations such as SIDS and similar groups in south east Queensland. Many of Danielle's articles reflect heartache - although not solely associated with the loss of babies and children.

The Press Service International young writer program is a ministry of Well-Being Australia which has young writers from Australia, New Zealand, England, Canada, USA, Mozambique, Middle East, China, Korea, Thailand and the West Indies.
Well-Being Australia's Russell Modlin is from the Sunshine Coast who is the WBA young writer representative on its board. Russell and Belinda and their three sons served as missionaries for four years in central Australia before returning to the Sunshine Coast and back into teaching.
Most Improved
Alex Gillespie won the Australian Most Improved Young Writer Award. Alex relocated from Wollongong to Sydney earlier this year for philosophy at Sydney Uni.

Young Writers Conference
It was my privilege to bring the devotional citing Romans where we're challenged to bring life and peace and I cited the Michelangelo sculpture story that from the large block he was "releasing the angel" - and that every young writer at their key-board with each article faces the same exciting endeavour.
New Zealand's Sophia Sinclair ran her workshop as she did in Wellington in April for the New Zealand young writers and Jeremy Dover from Melbourne address the "New Reformation' taking place right before out eyes in various forms of community ministries.
Natalie Chu from Christian Today addressed the conference and noted that their researched demographic is 18-35 age bracket - the Gen Y young writers speaking to their peers.
Tomorrow the New Zealand Awards, and next year's young writer's conference (2015) will be in Sydney, 2016 in Melbourne, 2017 the Sunshine Coast and 2018 in New Zealand.
Dr Mark Tronson is a Baptist minister (retired) who served as the Australian cricket team chaplain for 17 years (2000 ret) and established Life After Cricket in 2001. He was recognised by the Olympic Ministry Medal in 2009 presented by Carl Lewis Olympian of the Century. He mentors young writers and has written 24 books, and enjoys writing. He is married to Delma, with four adult children and grand-children.
