These Latvian troops are highly trained men and women who serve in Afghanistan and Iraq with USA, Australian and British troops.
But they are in a crisis. They come home distressed after their deployment in the war zone having seen and experienced atrocities.
Their families are distraught and their marriages are falling apart. This is what the Generals together with the Chaplain General have asked me to address – to prepare the troops for eternity and teach them how to bring healing to their families.
This program has been so successful that they have asked me to come back again next year in March with the new intake of troops for training.
What a privilege and on top of that to be able to give full on altar calls to bring them to Christ. The local base chaplains are inundated with the follow up work and counselling for the troops as well as their families.
In addition to this, our ministry in Latvia and Ukraine has increased with many more opportunities to bring people to the Lord in the extreme economic crisis in Eastern Europe – in the churches, prisons, youth groups, children's camps and orphanages. The orphans winter needs are increasing with many in need to pay heating bills and for medicines and vitamins.
