
The death toll of Victoria's train collusion has reached 11 people, as a temporary morgue is being set up near the crash site.
The AP reported police has warned the official death toll could rise with 5 of the 23 people injured, still remains in a critical condition. The Fairfax publication has reported that the driver of the truck who drove into the oncoming train has apologised within minutes after the crash.
For the victims of the crash, Anglican Archbishop of Melbourne, Dr. Philip Freier, has encourages Victorians to pray for them. He said that in this grievous time, people needed prayers of comfort and reassurance so that they can find some peace.
The Archbishop sends his condolences to communities and families who are bereaved and like all Victorians expressed appreciation for rescuers on the scene who responded to the tragedy. He will also continue to pray for those affected by the incident.
"I join all Victorians in expressing appreciation to the emergency services workers who responded so magnificently to this tragedy," the Archbishop said. "I will continue to pray for the injured, that they will recover quickly from their physical wounds, and I pray that God will, over time, heal them of their emotional wounds."
