John Song will be an invaluable asset to Dr. Sam & Sharon Mings and the Lay Witnesses for Christ International family. This decision by John Song came after much prayer and as a result of procedures discussed with Dr. Mings years earlier regarding opening a Lay Witnesses for Christ International Office in South Korea.
The decision was finalised when John Song and his wife Kay visited LWFC International Offices in Dallas, Texas and spent time with Dr. Mings and LWFC International Operations Director, Mary Thompson. That evening John, Kay and their son, John joined Dr. Sam and Sharon Mings and Mary Thompson for an evening out in Fort Worth, Texas' famed 'Stockyards'.
Dr. John Song has issued an invitation for Dr. Sam Mings, Sr. to join him in Seoul, South Korea for the ministry's official 'Grand Opening'. John Song will also be bringing a ministry team from South Korea for Lay Witnesses for Christ's 'Bridging the Gap 2012 UK Outreach'. This will be LWFCI's 8th outreach during the Summer Olympics. This ministry is projected to be the largest ever with Team Members gathering from throughout the world. (Lay Witnesses for Christ is known as 'Chaplains to the World Champions').
"John Song is very possibly the most gifted individual to ever be orchestrated of the Lord to provide leadership for LWFCI. He is one of the most caring, and humble individuals I have ever been privileged to meet. I will be honoured to serve at his side and glean from his vast reservoir of knowledge.
His desire -as is mine, is to be spent for the Glory of the Lord! I was blessed to serve him in his position as Deputy Chaplain for the 1988 Olympic Village in Seoul. He not only graciously served as the translator for our Evening with the Olympians in Yoido Full Gospel Church, but he served as Billy Graham translator for Dr. Graham's outreaches in Korea in years past.
"He has simply accomplished so very much and we are humbled God has led him our way. We will never seize praising the Lord for the ministry of Dr. John Song," said Dr. Sam Mings Sr. Dr. Mings was brought to tears by Dr. Song's comments during their recent meeting at the International Offices in Dallas, Texas "The Christians of Korea were blessed to host the Olympics but the legacy was not the great athletic accomplishments in Olympic Stadium but rather Lay Witnesses for Christ International's 'STAR EVENING' at the world's largest church," said John Song.
The Songs are parents of two daughters and one son and are so blessed by their grandchildren. John Song is active in leadership for several ministries in the Asian world.
