When it comes to China-made Smartphones, Elephone is not on the top of the popularity rankings but, its announcement of a distinctive handset dubbed as Elephone P5000 is a statement that they will not stop working on their products.
Although it has a resemblance with the Samsung Galaxy in terms of design, it brags about housing the biggest battery for Smartphones. The Elephone has a 5350 mAh battery and surpasses the Philips W6618's 5300 mAh battery.
There is urgency in resolving the poor battery life of Smartphones due to some screen and performance enhancement. As latest gadgets obtain a lot of upgrades in technology, most of the time, this does not answer the poor battery life issue. Elephone manufactured and promoted the P5000 to provide its users more time to enjoy their gadgets and the apps they love.
On the official Elephone site, they published a graphic that presents the behaviour of their new phone in an ordinary day, after almost non-stop use. P5000 still has 70 percent battery life in the evening and can still work for a couple of days. Also, Elephone boasts that unlike other Smartphones sold anywhere, the P5000 has a fast charging mode. In just an hour, it can charge up to 70%. Furthermore, it has a special feature where an Elephone P5000 user can transfer their remaining energy to some desired devices.
Even with its big battery, Elephone P5000 apparently looks normal with a display 5" Full HD and usual Smartphone dimensions of 144 x 71 mm with a thickness of 9.3mm. This is comparable to Galaxy S5 which was reported to have dimensions of 142 x 72.5 x 8.1 mm.
With regards to technical specifications, the P5000 has a "MediaTek MT6592 octa-core 1.7GHz processor", 16GB built-in storage as well as 2GB RAM. Also, it has two cameras and powered by Android Kitkat. Up to this moment, no official information relating to the price of the Smartphone.
