'Into the Woods' actress Emily Blunt plays a baker's wife eager to have a child of her own. Real-life mother Blunt feels the same joys of motherhood, saying "it is that and more."
In an interview with People, Blunt shared that motherhood is actually "heaven" for her.
"You don't know what to expect because it's just completely, existentially out of anything that you've ever experienced before, and it's quite indescribable," said Blunt.
She and husband John Krasinski became parents last February as they gave birth to daughter Hazel. And while the actress warmed up easily to her daughter, she had quite a different experience for her role into Disney's new musical.
"I was really, really nervous — reluctant, even, to the point of not wanting to audition for it," she admitted.
Director Rob Marshall and fellow actress Meryll Streep eventually convinced her to go for the role, and Blunt conquered her fear of singing.
Streep and Blunt were both in the movie The Devil Wears Prada, where Streep plays a ruthless and conniving editor Miranda Priestly.
"It was great! Not really a different dynamic; she's torturing me yet again," said Blunt about Into the Woods. "I feel like I'm just forever destined to grovel at her feet on camera, you know. It's fine by me!"
