He called together the four young sports writers with Christian Today Australia (CTA) for a mini-conference to establish 'long term' direction as the daily sports articles have gained a creditable readership.
Jeremy Dover (Melbourne), Clayton Hinds (Townsville), Rosie Timmins (Gold Coast Bond University) and Wesley Tronson (returned from the UK after seven years) have all taken up voluntary positions as Well-Being Australia 'young sports writers' for CTA's daily sports article.
Christian Today Australia (CTA) is an on-line non-denominational daily news sheet whose aim is to provide a Christian world view of daily news.
Anchorman Clayton Hinds interviewed Mark Tronson on the Australian Missionary News IPTV, who like each of the young sports writers is being trained up as Australian Missionary News IPTV broadcasters.
Mark Tronson explained that by the end of January he had put a proposal to CTA which was accepted, and he sought out four young sports writers. As he had almost 30 years experience in sports ministry, he had deep resources by which to make investigation.
Clayton Hinds asked Mark Tronson how he came up with the day pattern. The explanation was simple, that he sought to have readers find the same sports writer on the same day each week. The international sport day (UK English Premier League) was set in the centre of the week, Wednesdays.
Mark himself writes the Monday article and it provides a day for guest writers.
Mark Tronson said, as a 'World First', providing a sports article each day of the week for an on-line Christian news publication, the idea is very transferable to the international scene and is working toward linking both the UK and US daily Christian news sheets to the idea.
He can foresee a time when there will be an international Christian sports writers conference.
