It took almost a decade for the fan-made Pokémon Uranium version to roll out for PC. The game includes over 150 new monsters, three-role playing characters, the new Tandor region and online battling as well as trading.
The fan-made Pokémon game was launched online on August 6, after nine years of work by a group of passionate fans, who used RPG Maker XP to develop the game.
The game includes a full-length narration, over gameplay in which players need to acquire eight gym badges. The Uranium version features more than 150 new Pokémon including Nuclear-type, online battles and deals, as well as a Pokémon speech translator and a number of new moves and abilities.
Pokémon Uranium operates without the need for an emulator, however, the developers have already issued a 1.0.1 patch.
The game has apparently avoided takedown requests so many of its fellow fan-made follow-ons have fallen victim to. However, there are still speculations whether Nintendo and The Pokémon Company will pursue the title after its full version launch.
Pokémon Uranium's website and its videos give an impression the motive behind the game is not for profit purposes, but more like a fan project unaffiliated with the official brand.
