|PIC1|With cars racing in both the Yokohama V8 Utes AND the Fujitsu V8 Supercars at Oran Park, it looks like driver Andrew Fisher will be doing double duty for the Jesus Racing Team.
It was hoped that experienced race driver Orchard would drive the Jesus Racing Ute for the event.
With two tests under his belt returning competitive times, the team was excited about his involvement. Darren was also planning to contribute financially to the Jesus Racing Team.
However medical issues have now forced Darren's withdrawal.
While the team will leave the option open for him as long as possible, it looks like the budget will be left with a significant hole, and Fisher will again be forced to do double duty.
Fisher is no stranger to swapping between the race cars.
He debuted in the black "Jesus. All about life" Commodore at the Bathurst round of the Fujitsu V8 Supercars, where he also raced in the Yokohama V8 Ute events.
Supercar Race 1 saw Fisher finish in 16th place, however Race 2 saw the Supercar involved in a disastrous crash which left the team with a hefty repair bill.
This will be the car's first event since that accident.
Losing Orchard has been a crushing blow, however the upside for the Jesus Racing Team is Fisher is quick at Oran Park, and is focussed on great finishes in both the Ute and the Supercar.
"I love this track," says Fisher. "It's our home track. I feel confident here and would love to finish with a good result for the Jesus. All about life campaign.
"As this is the last event at Oran Park, we're extraordinarily keen to maximise this opportunity."
Fisher will face three sessions across the weekend where he will step from one car straight into the other.
While he's expecting this to be tough, Fisher feels his experience on the track will stand him in good stead.
