Google is coming out with two new smartphones under the flagship of Nexus, this year most probably in October. There have been rumors going around that the next phone in the Nexus series will be an all metallic body phone with 5-inch and 5.5-inch display screen sizes.
As per reports, the smaller phone has been named "Sailfish" and will look very similar to the previous model Nexus 5X, and will include a fingerprint scanner placed on the phone's back. The larger 5.5-inch display device has been named "Marlin" and is also expected not to differ much terms of design.
Interestingly, it has also been buzzed that tech giant Google may place a "G" logo instead of the "Nexus" logo. Both the Nexus variants are likely to be manufactured by HTC.
Both phones will run on Android 7.0 Nougat, and will be featured in 32GB and 12GB variants. It has also been reported that the upcoming launcher does not have the iconic Google search box as offered on the home screen of the Android handsets. However, the phones would feature Google Assistant that will be preloaded and would be a "headline software feature."
The CEO of Google, Sundar Pichai, at the Recode Code Conference in June said, "The company would be extra 'opinionated' about Nexus design. The users will hopefully get more features on top of Android on Nexus phones."
