According to Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Shonda Rhimes hinted at the possibility of a comeback from the dead of Megan, Nathan Riggs' (Martin Henderson) girlfriend who is Owen's (Kevin McKidd) sister.
In season 12 she was presumed dead after it was revealed she boarded a helicopter to accompany a patient, but unfortunately never made it to the destination because it crashed, though the helicopter was never found.
"As for whether or not the sister is dead, I think that's interesting people think that's a question, but that's an interesting question," Rhimes told EW.
Now fans are wondering what changes she might bring between the two men. There have been friction between the pair earlier and things were getting good when Owen seemingly forgave Nathan in the finale for cheating on his sister.
Megan might bring a different angle as her disappearance made things bitter between Owen and Nathan. Though Rhimes has not given any confirmation but possibilities are high.
Another unconfirmed comeback in the show which will make the fans happy is favorite Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh), who might return to the Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital after she moved to Switzerland in season 10.
Since earlier reports stated that this season will focus more on the old cast, chances are on for Cristina's return. Fans will be delighted even with a cameo of the 45 year old actress. She had earlier expressed her desire to make an appearance if the show needs it.
Grey's Anatomy Season 13 will premiere on September 22, 9 p.m. on ABC.
