It's undeniable that Pokemon Go became an instant hit around the world. But there are some interesting developments happening on the block. The popular game has been rumored to get a magical twist. A new version of the game modelled on the storyline of Harry Potter is supposedly likely to happen.
As Game & Guide reports, it all began when 23 year old Ashtyn Hannon initiated a petition for the game online. Hannon has apparently been an ardent lover of anything Harry Potter ever since she was eight. And while the determined Potterhead has not played Pokemon Go even once, she's certainly enthusiastic about a magical version of the game. The petition she carved out online has a goal of 55,000 supporters.
Rumors spread online when the petition went live. However, GameSpot got to the bottom of the issue and reported that the news wasn't true. But Potter fans, don't lose hope! The massive support from fans all over the globe for the game may prompt Niantic to collaborate with the Harry Potter franchise and make this dream a reality.
In the meantime, there's a surreal video that'll set your imagination soaring. Conceptualized by a fan and brought to life by Stargaze Media, the video can be found on YouTube. It opens with the Marauders' famous line 'I solemnly swear that I am up to no good.'
Watching it makes you wonder how fantastic it would be to track and hunt down beasts like grindylows and goblins instead of Pokemon characters, to choose your favorite Hogwarts house, and to collect the popular Chocolate Frog cards at magical stops along your way.
Set to the haunting theme music of the Harry Potter movies, the video nearly convinces you that the game is going to happen. We certainly hope it does!
