
Arsenal travelled to Eastland's on Sunday in a much anticipated match. Manchester City struggled to contain the passing game of Arsenal and found themselves a man down early which didn't help their cause. Arsenal then controlled the match with Fabragas starring for the gunners in a comfortable 3-0 win to halt Manchester City's winning ways.
Chelsea cemented their place at the top of the table and widened the gap to 5 points at the top with a 2-0 win over Wolves at the Bridge. Chelsea still had some players out however made light work of Wolves who to their credit held their own for long periods of the match. Chelsea however kept their fantastic home record in tact earning yet another clean sheet.
Liverpool have finally been taken over by a new American consortium and gave their new owners a great performance winning 2-1 at home to Blackburn. After some great chances early on, Liverpool finally broke the scoring before Blackburn levelled with a surprise own goal. Liverpool however had by far the most possession and finally the pressure told with out of sorts Torres scoring the winner midway through the second half. The win lifts the pressure of Hodgson however they are still in the relegation places.
Other fixtures on the weekend say Aston Villa struggle away at Sunderland with the Black Cats winning 1-0 thanks to an own goal by Villa defender Dunn. West Brom kept up their impressive start to the season with a 2-1 win at home to Fulham. Birminham were too strong for Blackpool with a comfortable 2-0 victory. Spurs and Everton played out a very entertaining 1-1 draw at White Hart Lane whilst Wigan and Bolton also drew 1-1 in a big local derby in Lancashire. Newcastle travelled to West Ham and took home all 3 points coming from behind to win 2-1 at Upton Park.
