Viola Davis, who plays the strong headed lawyer Annalise Keating in ABC's How to Get Away with Murder has revealed her biggest challenge when shooting sex scenes for the show.
The 50-year-old actress told Entertainment Weekly editorial director Jess Cagle, that she was drawn to the show because of the script. She gave a thumbs up to the shown saying she was a hundred percent in.
But she had to film a sex scene on the very first day with co-actor Billy Brown, who plays cop Nate Lahey, which made her feel awkward.
"The first thing I had to do had the sex scene with Billy Brown. I was like, 'Okay, cut, cut, cut, cut," she says with laughter.
According to the actress, the more private and relaxed she feels on set, the more she can perform at her best. And like any other performer, shooting such private and intimate moments in front of the camera has been the greatest challenge for her.
Davis also starred in 'The Help' and 'Ender's Game', but this was the first time that the actress did an intimate scene, calling it a "game changer" for her.
"If you're in the privacy of your home doing anything intimate, it's fine," says the actress who has been recently seen in the DC's anti-hero movie Suicide Squad.
"But when you have cameras in front of you – imagine cameras coming to your house when doing an intimate scene. That changes everything."
The actress revealed that she instructed the showmakers to create her character as a "real woman" if they wanted her to play her the role.
Season 3 of 'How To Get Away With Murder' premieres September 22 on ABC.
